Hop Frog! Hop! – Or, ‘a Pedestrian in Tampa’

Some of you may remember the PC-game where you need to bring a frog across a high traffic road. Do you? The frogs get splat if you take too much risk and time your moves wrongly.

Hey, we just survived an attempt to reach a nature park in the suburbs of Tampa: The Moccassin Lake Nature Park. We had to come over a heavy traffic crossing, involving 4 successive pedestrian crossovers. You can press a button when you arrive at the light signal. But after five minutes or so waiting for the green light, you get grilled in the sun. We first did. When we noticed that nothing happens, even if you press a million times, then we recalled our Italian and French culture and crossed wildly. Hopping from lane to lane. It works, but it is like Russian roulette.

Was it worth? Well, the Moccassin Lake was not dry and we could contemplate the wet swamp fauna. So yes, it was worth the walk. But we won’t play Frog anymore. It is not worth it.
